In 2024, the Looking at Blue Paper team undertook the survey, documentation, description, and dissemination of European drawings on blue paper dated 1400-1800. In this database, users can explore the 44 drawings that form the project by viewing them by artist, country, date range, description, or photographs.
The goal of the AGO Looking at Blue Paper Project is to build a unique and accessible educational resource that can be of interest to the general public, researchers, curators, conservators, donors and others who are engaged in developing close looking at drawings in the AGO Marvin Gelber Print and Drawing Study Centre.
The Looking at Blue Paper Project team would like to thank the Samuel H. Kress Foundation and the Michael and Sonja Koerner Conservation Initiatives Fund for their support.
